"dis.playce is the collaboration of hannes galette seidl and
maximilian marcoll.
our working method is a kind of "directed music":
we develop a certain concept (piece) for each concert,
formal sections, predefined sounds etc.
the details are then improvised on this basis.
this way we can act spontaneously and nevertheless
have some strong compositional elements in the music
(like complex formal relations, sudden changes and so on).
our setup consists of one or two powerbooks and small
electronic component parts (like piezos and spools).
these parts are used to transduce electromagnetic fields
(of cd-players, the computers or other things) into audible waves.

the patches/programs used in the computer are written in Max/MSP
specifically for the certain piece, so they become part of the
performance.
we started to use COOPER as environment to build our patches in.
