Ranciere in der Städelschule Mittwoch 7.1.09

Ich möcht Euch auf diese Veranstaltung hinweisen.

Ranciere wird derzeit so beschrieben:

Was strenggenommen keine Empfehlung rechtfertigen würde.

Ich habe allerdings vor einiger Zeit einen interessanten Text von
Ranciere gelesen, in der er der gängigen Unterscheidung zwischen einer
Hochkultur und einer Populärkultur widerspricht.

Ästhetik, er spricht von einem "regime esthetique", habe von Anfang an,
von ihrer Grundkonzeption her, die Einheit des Hohen und des Niedrigen
bedeutet.

Ich gehe also mal hin und höre.

Jacques Rancière: The Politics of Images

Jacques Rancière

Jacques Rancière (born Algiers, 1940) is a French philosopher and
Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of Paris VIII (St.
Denis) where he taught from 1969 to 2000. He came first to prominence
when he co-authored "Reading Capital" (1968) with the Marxist
philosopher and his mentor Louis Althusser, with whom he later split
over the proper response to the student revolt of May 1968. Today,
Rancière is most well known for his writings on emancipatory politics,
aesthetics and the relationship between aesthetics and politics. He also
writes extensively on cinema. His recent publications in german are Zehn
Thesen zur Politik (diaphanes 2008) and Ist Kunst widerständig? (Merve
2008).
